1. They were humbled by last year’s early playoff exit after once being ranked No. 1 in the state.
“It was definitely humbling,” offensive lineman Nick Losoya said. “It just goes to show you, you can’t let the papers get to you. You got to keep performing no matter what they say. It was hard for us to come to practice and stay humble when you go home and you look at the O.C. Register and you’re No. 1. I think it kind of got to our head. This year we just got to put the paper away."

2. What happened last year is not a topic a conversation among the players and Coach Bruce Rollinson.
“No, he’s done with that. We’re done with that,” Losoya said. “It’s all about 2008.”
