No. 7 Los Alamitos created a three-way tie for first place in the Sunset League by knocking off No. 5 Marina, 7-6, on Tuesday at Los Alamitos High.
Brittney Spalding and Rebecca Gottfried each went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs to lead Los Alamitos' 12-hit attack.
The Griffins (22-7, 7-2), Vikings (21-5, 7-2) and Edison (18-5, 7-2) are tied for first place with one game left in the regular season. Edison plays at Los Alamitos and Marina plays host to Esperanza on Thursday.
In other Sunset League games:
No. 4 Edison 14, Newport Harbor 1: The Chargers had six players with multi-hit games in their mercy-rule victory over the visiting Sailors (6-18, 0-9).
No. 15 Esperanza 6, Fountain Valley 0: Kailyn Johnson went 2 for 3 with a solo homer and Chelsey Anderson recorded a three-hitter with eight strikeouts to lead the Aztecs (16-12-2, 5-4) past the visiting Barons (10-14, 1-8).
In the Trinity League:
No. 1 Mater Dei 3, No. 13 Orange Lutheran 2: Micaela Arizmendi drove in two runs in the top of the sixth inning as the visiting Monarchs (20-4-1, 6-2) rallied to defeat the Lancers (18-11, 4-4) and clinch the league championship. Orange Lutheran finished in fourth place.
No. 14 Santa Margarita 2, JSerra 0: Amy Letourneau recorded a three-hit shutout with eight strikeouts as the visiting Eagles (15-10-1, 5-3) beat the Lions (3-16, 0-8) to finish tied for second place with Rosary (14-14, 5-3).
In the Century League:
No. 2 Canyon 1, Brea Olinda 0: Cheyanne Tarango pitched a two-hitter to help the Comanches (22-7, 8-1) squeak by the visiting Wildcats (11-12, 4-5) to clinch at least a share of the league title.
No. 3 El Modena 8, Tustin 0: Haylie Wagner tossed a one-hitter with 13 strikeouts as the visiting Vanguards (20-9, 7-2) defeated the Tillers (10-9, 2-7).
Villa Park 2, El Dorado 0: Raquel Carbajal went 2 for 4 with a double, a run and an RBI and Brianna Rice tossed a five-hit shutout as the visiting Spartans (11-13, 4-5) knocked off the Golden Hawks (3-16, 2-7) to move into a tie for third place with Brea Olinda.
In the Sea View League:
No. 9 El Toro 8, Huntington Beach 3: Lauren Stuhr hit a two-run homer for the Oilers (11-16, 2-7) in the bottom of the seventh to tie it, 3-3, but Megan Konieczka led off the top of the eighth with a homer that ignited a five-run rally to lift the Chargers (15-14, 7-2) to victory.
Foothill 10, Northwood 1: Emilee Koerner hit a grand slam in the second and a two-run shot in the fourth, Taylor Cantillo hit a three-run homer in the first and Hallie Wilson went 3 for 5 with a solo homer in the sixth as the visiting Knights (17-7-1, 7-2) took out the Timberwolves (13-14, 5-4).
No. 17 Trabuco Hills 3, Woodbridge 0: Kayla Massey pitched a one-hitter with no walks and 16 strikeouts to lift the Mustangs (18-8-1, 6-3) over the visiting Warriors (7-20, 0-9).
In the Pacific Coast League:
Irvine 1, No. 6 Laguna Hills 0: Jasmine Jenkins went 3 for 3 and drove in the winning run in the top of the sixth inning as the visiting Vaqueros (15-8, 6-3) upset the Hawks (19-6-2, 7-2), who dropped a game behind first-place Beckman.
In the Empire League:
No. 16 Pacifica 9, Loara 1: Krystian DeWitt allowed three hits and struck out nine to get the complete-game victory and Kayla Anderson went 4 for 5 with four RBIs and Jessica Alexander went 3 for 4 with two RBIs as the Mariners (18-10, 8-1) beat the Saxons (8-16, 3-6) for their 10th consecutive victory.
Cypress 14, Katella 0: Junior Marissa Hiller pitched a five-inning perfect game with six strikeouts to lead the Centurions (12-10-1, 7-2) to a mercy-rule victory over the Knights (5-19, 1-8).
Valencia 7, Kennedy 5: Torie Schmidt went 4 for 4 with a double, triple, three runs and an RBI to help the visiting Tigers (18-9, 5-4) beat the Fighting Irish (13-10, 3-6) to clinch third place.
In the Freeway League:
No. 22 La Habra 2, Fullerton 1: Shanin Thomas went 2 for 3 with two RBIs for the visiting Highlanders (17-8, 7-2) in a victory over the Indians (14-13, 5-4).
