Offense finally erupts for Trabuco Hills

Trabuco Hills has been winning games, but the offense had yet to erupt.
That was until Tuesday's Sea View League meeting against visiting El Toro, where the No. 9 Mustangs pounded out 10 hits in a 5-1 victory at Trabuco Hills High.
“That's one thing we stressed last week in the (Michelle) Carew Classic,” Webber said. “We weren't getting hits together. We were getting hits sporadically. I think today we finally put a string of hits together and we were able to score some runs off them.”
Trabuco Hills (14-5, 2-0) has finished in second place behind the Chargers (8-14, 0-2) in the league title race the past two seasons.
“We know going in that they (the Chargers) are always going to be a tough game,” Webber said. “They live right down the street from us too, so (it's) a little rivalry in our league.”
El Toro manufactured a run to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning. Lauren Chamberlain led off with a single, stole second with one out and moved to third on Brooke Bell's bunt single. Shannon Tinsley drove in Chamberlain with a sacrifice fly to right field.
Trabuco Hills responded with two runs in the bottom of the fourth. Kayla Massey and Mandy Gutierrez had back-to-back singles to start the inning and Madi Geiger drove both of them in with a one-out double to the gap in left-center field.
The Mustangs added three more runs on five hits and an error as they batted around in the bottom of the sixth. Ashley Putkamer had an RBI single and Ahlyn Campbell had two-run single.
Massey had another solid pitching performance for the Mustangs, allowing two hits, one walk and striking out 11 to record the victory.
In another Sea View League game:
Huntington Beach 2, No. 10 Foothill 1:Lauren Stuhr scored on an error in the outfield in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Oilers (7-8, 1-1) upset the visiting Knights (10-5-1, 1-1).
In the Sunset League:
No. 14 Marina 9, Fountain Valley 0:Taysia Kaufman came within one error of a perfect game, but she finished with a no-hitter and six strikeouts to lead the Vikings (13-3, 1-0) past the Barons (8-7, 0-1).
Los Alamitos 4, Newport Harbor 0:Katrina Metoyer went 2 for 4 with a double and Chanelle Spalding went 1 for 2 with an RBI as the Griffins (17-5, 2-0) took care of the host Sailors (6-10, 0-1).
In the South Coast League:
No. 1 Tesoro 4, San Clemente 2:Kasey Lange went 3 for 3 with a triple and two RBIs and Alyx Reedy drove in two runs for the Titans (16-0, 1-0), who dispatched the visiting Tritons (5-11, 0-1).
No. 6 Aliso Niguel 11, No. 16 Mission Viejo 7:Tiffany Mikkelson went 3 for 5 with two doubles and three RBIs, Makenzie Morello went 2 for 4 with a double, two runs and three RBIs and Jill Jelnick went 4 for 5 with a double and two runs scored as the visiting Wolverines (11-6-1, 1-0) pounded out 18 hits to outslug the Diablos (10-8, 0-1).
No. 19 Dana Hills 11, Capistrano Valley 2: J.J. Jorgenson went 3 for 5 with a triple, homer and five RBIs, Jenny Hurst went 2 for 3 with a triple, and RBI and three runs and Jordyn Larkins went 3 for 4 with an RBI to lead the Dolphins (13-5, 1-0) past the visiting Cougars (6-14, 0-1).
In the Pacific Coast League:
No. 8 Laguna Hills 13, Corona del Mar 1:Lauren Lastrapes and Kelley Schroeder homered for the Hawks (14-4-1, 2-0) in a victory over the visiting Sea Kings (4-12, 0-2).
In the Freeway League:
No. 21 Sonora 4, La Habra 0:Ariel Tsuchiyama went 3 for 4 with a double, triple and a run scored and Alexa Limon pitched a six-hit shutout with five strikeouts to help the Raiders (10-8, 1-0) beat the host Highlanders (9-6, 0-1).
Sunny Hills 1, Troy 0:Yolanda Rios tossed a one-hitter with 13 strikeouts, Jennifer Aandrud hit a solo homer in the top of the seventh and Samantha Rios made two stellar defensive plays at second base as the Lancers (11-4, 1-0) outlasted the host Warriors (5-6, 0-1).
Fullerton 11, Buena Park 0:Shelby Burke hit a two-run homer in the second and a three-run homer in the third and Reina Acosta threw a no-hitter with five strikeouts for the visiting Indians (10-10, 1-0) in a victory over the Coyotes (1-7, 0-1).
In the Garden Grove League:
No. 18 Rancho Alamitos 11, Santiago 0:Kari Gutierrez threw the first perfect game of her career with 11 strikeouts and she homered and doubled to lift the Vaqueros (10-4-1, 1-0) over the visiting Cavaliers (5-7, 0-1).
Garden Grove 16, Bolsa Grande 0:Chrissy McCullough went 3 for 3 with a double, home run and two runs scored as the Argos (5-11, 1-0) beat the visiting Matadors (2-7, 0-1) in five innings because of the mercy rule.
La Quinta 16, Los Amigos 0:Caity Caraballo and Adrianna Cardoza combined on a no-hitter as the Aztecs (10-7, 1-0) beat the visiting Lobos (3-10, 0-1) in five innings via the mercy rule.
Caraballo went 3 for 3 with two runs and three RBIs, Ariana Lopez went 4 for 4 with two runs and three RBIs and Cardoza went 2 for 4 with three runs and three RBIs.
