Stavrou, a member of the county’s top-ranked wrestling team, is one of the top academic performers at his school. His current classes include: IB English 4, AP Biology, AP Spanish 4, AP Civics, International Relations, and Calculus BC. He helped start a Greek cultural club at the school and is a member of the school’s Futbol 4 Dreams program, the Spanish Honors Society, and the Key Club. Stavrou is also affiliated with the Greek Orthodox Youth of America organization and has helped with food drives and serve orphanages. His top college choices are Stanford, UCLA, USC, and UC San Diego, where he plans to major in Mathematics and possibly Economics.
