Highlights: The first-team All-South Coast League selection seemed to be in the right place, all of the time. He finished tied for first in the county with nine interceptions. He also recorded 51 tackles and 11 pass deflections. "He's probably the most athletic kid on the team," Coach Brian Barnes said. "He has great hands, he's fast

ALEX MASCARENAS
Mission Viejo High School
5-11, 180, Senior
Defensive back
Highlights: Mascarenas, a UCLA commit, picks up his third consecutive all-county selection. He earned second-team honors as both a sophomore and junior. Mascarenas moved to safety this season, but he still made an impact on the opposition's offensive game plan. He finished the season with four interceptions and was selected as the South Coast League co-defensive MVP.
BIJON SAMOODI
Servite High School
5-8, 165, Senior
Defensive back
Highlights: Samoodi earns first team all-county honors for the second consecutive season and for good reason. It was another standout season for Samoodi as he finished with 102 tackles, three interceptions, four pass breakups and one blocked field goal. He said that his work in practice against Greg Portis and Christopher Nicholls helped him tremendously this season. He has received an offer from Montana St and is set to make a visit to SMU soon. He has also received interest from Missouri and BYU.
