The shuffle of the county’s top 10 continues this week, as the first week of league play saw highly competitive action among the county elite.

With more big matches on this week’s schedule, there’s a good chance that the shifting among teams will continue.

Here now is a look at this week’s top 10, along with comments and each team’s upcoming schedule.

1. Santa Margarita (17-3-1; 2-0): The Eagles started the Trinity League with shutout victories over Orange Lutheran and JSerra. They will face Rosary at Cal State Fullerton on Thursday.

2. Los Alamitos (9-4-3; 1-0): The Griffins survived a close call in their Sunset League opener by beating Huntington Beach 1-0 in double overtime. Los Alamitos has home matches against Newport Harbor on Tuesday and Marina on Thursday.

3. Esperanza (12-2-3; 3-0): The Aztecs enjoyed a successful first week in their new league, winning all three matches without allowing a goal in the process. Esperanza, which has now won seven straight matches overall, is at home against El Dorado on Tuesday and on the road at Brea Olinda on Thursday.

4. Dana Hills (5-1-5; 1-0-1):
The Dolphins blanked San Juan Hills 6-0 before their tie with Tesoro. This week, Dana Hills will host Laguna Hills Tuesday before a road match against Capistrano Valley Thursday.

5. Tesoro (9-2-3; 1-0-1):
The Titans defeated Capistrano Valley 4-0 before rallying for a tie against Dana Hills. Tesoro has a home match against San Juan Hills Tuesday.

6. Corona del Mar (7-2-3; 1-0): The Sea Kings ended nonleague with a 4-0 win over Estancia before defeating Northwood 4-1 in their Pacific Coast League opener. They will be one the road against Irvine on Tuesday before hosting Woodbridge on Thursday.

7. Mission Viejo (8-4; 1-0): The Diablos opened the South Coast League with a big 2-1 win over Aliso Niguel. Mission Viejo travels to El Toro on Tuesday before hosting San Clemente on Thursday.

8. San Clemente (7-2-5; 0-0-1): The Tritons winless streak was extended to four matches with a 1-1 tie against El Toro. They host Trabuco Hills on Tuesday before traveling to Mission Viejo on Thursday. San Clemente will then travel to Ft. Worth Texas this weekend to participate in the 2011 Red Bull Nolan Showcase.

9. Aliso Niguel (8-3-2; 0-1-1):
It was a tough week for the Wolverines, who are now winless in their last three matches after a scoreless tie against Trabuco Hills and the loss to Mission Viejo to open the South Coast League (the only loss among teams in this week’s top 10 ranking). They will be looking to get back on track when they play host to El Toro on Thursday.

10. Mater Dei (7-3-4; 0-0-1): The Monarchs finished their nonleague play with a tie against Troy and then began the Trinity League with a scoreless tie against Orange Lutheran. They host Rosary on Tuesday and will be on the road at JSerra on Thursday.

11-15. Orange Lutheran (7-4-3; 0-1-1); Edison (7-4-4; 1-0); Beckman (5-1-6; 1-0); Trabuco Hills (8-4-4; 0-0-2); Capistrano Valley (6-6-3; 0-1)
