Her passing, rebounding and unselfishness were the reasons she commanded so much respect from her teammates and opponents.

Season highlights: No player was more important to her team than Kim was to the Ladycats. She carried Brea to the Nike Tournament of Champions title in Chandler, Ariz., the Eastside Prep Coaches vs. Cancer Classic title in northern California and a share of the Century League title. Her best asset was her toughness and ability to get her teammates involved in the offense with precise passing. She was a tenacious defender. She could score when her team needed her to. When Kim went down with a season-ending fractured ankle, the Ladycats lost three consecutive regular-season games and lost in the first round of the playoffs.
