WHITTIER Seven players scored touchdowns for Whittier Christian on Friday night as the Heralds posted a 69-0 victory over Marshall of Pasadena in an Alpha League game.
Mark Edwards ran for 123 yards and scored three touchdowns in the first half as the Heralds (5-4, 3-1) scored on their first seven possessions to take a 49-0 halftime lead.
The Heralds scored quickly. They scored touchdowns on one play on four occasions, and also scored on a drive of three plays and drives of four plays twice.
The Heralds totaled 444 yards on the ground with Justin Gallagher running for 96 yards, and Nick Camarillo and Frank Chavez chipping in with 87 and 65 yards, respectively.
The Heralds held the Eagles (0-9, 0-4) to 73 yards of total offense and intercepted three passes, two by Daniel Genberg.
