Savanna quarterback Marc Thomas rushed for three touchdowns and threw for another to lead the Rebels to a 43-28 victory over Garden Grove in a nonleague game Thursday at Garden Grove High.
The Argonauts (1-2) had no answer for Savanna’s ground attack as the Rebels (3-1) totaled 334 yards rushing.
Senior tailback Stephen Jones led Savanna with a season-high 167 yards, while Thomas added 113. Garden Grove led, 21-20, late in the first half, but the Rebels scored 16 consecutive points and never trailed the rest of the game.
Aaron Nelson led Garden Grove with 112 yards rushing, while quarterback James Reza completed 8 of 14 passes for 135 yards and three touchdowns.
