SANTA ANA - Mater Dei’s No. 3-ranked football team continued its impressive start by defeating visiting Santa Monica, 51-0, at Santa Ana Stadium at Thursday.
The Monarchs blocked two punts, racked up 429 yards offense and held Santa Monica to 28 yards to post their first 3-0 start since 2007.
“It’s a great feeling but it’s also a humbling experience,” Mater Dei senior Thomas Duarte said.
“We’ve got to keep working, keep our my minds straight, keep focused and just come back every week and just put in work and show up Friday nights and play.”
