OCVARSITY.COM

SANTA ANA - The Santa Ana Valley Falcons secured a share of the Orange League championship as they dominated the Century Centurions, 69-14, Friday night at Segerstrom High.

Falcons running back Darius Nacoste ran for 393 yards and five touchdowns on 25 carries.

With Savanna (7-3, 4-1) defeating Anaheim (5-5, 4-1) 24-3, the three teams finished with identical records in Orange League play and coin flips were held after the contest to determine playoff positioning.

Anaheim emerged as the top seed after the flips, followed by the Falcons (7-3, 4-10 in second and Savanna in third.

Falcons coach Larry Mohr made a point to keep his team focused on their game.

“We could control what we did against Century,” Mohr said. “We couldn’t control what Savanna did against Anaheim and we couldn’t control the coin flip.”

Century finished 0-10 overall, 0-5 in league.
