Santa Ana shuts out Orange on way to playoffs
Ledesma passes for 232 yards, three TDs in 45-0 win.
The Saints will go the CIF playoffs as the league's No. 2 team.
“No one gave us hope (at the beginning of the season), but we hope to ride this as long as we can,” Santa Ana offensive coordinator Luis Ramirez said.
Santa Ana (7-3, 4-1) started the scoring against Orange (3-7, 2-3) with a Robert Peralta 21-yard touchdown run with 1:39 left.
In the second quarter, Santa Ana scored 21 points.
A 47-yard pass from Ledesma was hauled in by wide receiver back Vincent Gonzalez for a touchdown.
With 8:31 left in the second quarter, Gonzalez scored another touchdown as a defensive back, recovering a fumble and scoring from 25 yards out.
“We’ve been dealing with adversity,” Ramirez said. “We asked the senior leaders to step up and the last four weeks, we’ve been coming through.”
