Kickoff 2010: Sage Hill Lightning
Last season record:
7-4, 2-1 (2nd, Academy)
Postseason:
2009, lost to Grace Brethren, 20-17, in East Valley Division first round
Coach:
J.R. Tolver (2nd, 7-4)
Home stadium:
Sage Hill
Outlook:
The Lightning should have some weapons on offense. After being slowed last season by a separated shoulder, senior Randall Mycorn is back at quarterback. The Taylor boys also return. Senior Taylor Ross, who rushed for over 600 yards in 2009, is the go-to runner while Taylor Petty is a top target at receiver. Junior Eric Cheng offers Sage Hill a change-of-pace rusher because of his quickness. Senior TJ Danner is a key offensive lineman in a group that needs to come together. Depth and experience could be other challenges. The Lightning are expected to carry about 18 or 19 players, which is a few more than last season. They need to stay healthy. Unlike last season, the Lightning will only have a handful of seniors. Sage Hill had 11 seniors last season.

Factoids:
