Sage Hill

Last season: 8-3, 2-1 (second)

Postseason: 2007, lost to Linfield Christian, 62-32, in Northeast Division first round

Coach: Derek McIntyre (1st)

Outlook: McIntyre was a late hire in May. The Lightning return only four starters on each side of the ball but they received two helpful transfers. Starting running back Jelani Reynolds is from England, where he has been playing rugby. Sophomore quarterback Randall Mycorn transferred from Mater Dei and is competing for the starting job. Still, the Lightning are young with only six seniors.

Factoid: McIntyre built competitive programs at The Bishop's in La Jolla and Viewpoint in Calabasas. The past two years, he was the athletic director at Justin-Siena in Napa.
