ANAHEIM A productive and consistent running attack helped Loara prevail in a 47-21, homecoming victory over  Empire League rival Katella  (2-5, 0-2)   on Friday night.

The catalyst behind the Saxons’ attack was running back Dietrik Laguisan, who ran for 195 yards on 25 carries and scored four touchdowns. Laguisan almost broke the Saxons' record for touchdowns in one game by a running back, which is five.

The Saxons (2-5, 1-1) struck early by scoring 33 points in the first half. The game was sealed when wide receiver Howard Gauta returned an interception 86 yards for a touchdown.

"We worked on playing harder and faster and our running game allowed us to do that," Loara coach Dean Lappin said.
