Aliso Niguel starts fast at Pal tournament

Aliso Niguel's boys water polo team opened the Steve Pal Memorial Tournament with a pair of victories Monday against CIF-ranked teams.

The Wolverines started with a 13-11 victory at Katella against La Serna, ranked fifth in Division 5.

Aliso Niguel then reached Friday night's quarterfinals with a 13-12 victory against Montebello, ranked fourth in Division 2. Andy Santala and Corey Stock each scored four goals against Montebello.

Santala netted seven goals goals against La Serna.

The Wolverines (17-5) are ranked fifth this week in Division 3.

No. 9 Dana Hills and Servite also each won twice Monday to reach the quarterfinals.
