ocvarsity.com
On what appeared to be a potential winning drive for the host Santa Ana Saints, La Quinta's Jonathan Rio returned an interception 65 yards to put the game away with :53 seconds left in the fourth quarter Friday night.

Rio's touchdown secured a 27-14 victory for La Quinta.

After Santa Ana tied the game at 14, La Quinta drove 60 yards and scored with 1:55 left in the final quarter on a 2 yard quarterback sneak by George Martinez. The Saints blocked the extra point to make it 20-14.

Santa Ana drove down the field but turned the ball over as La Quinta racked up its third interception of the game with 1 minute left in the game.

Martinez led his team with 148 yards on 12 of 16 passing and two scores plus the eventual winning rushing score.
