Sea Queens capture SoCal crown but are they No. 1?

Corona del Mar's girls water polo team beat the No. 1 ranked team in CIF-SS Division I on Saturday in the finals of the Irvine Southern California Championships.
But in posting their 8-7 victory against Dos Pueblos, the No. 2 Sea Queens didn't face standout goalie Sami Hill, who chipped a bone in her thumb in practice Monday.
Corona del Mar and Dos Pueblos split two other matches this season - both at Dos Pueblos - when the teams were at full-strength.
The Sea Queens won an early-season nonleague match, 10-8, while the Chargers won a match in mid-January in the semifinals of the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions, 6-4.
