Kickoff 2012: Tustin preview

Coach: Myron Miller (18th year, 142-68)

Home stadium: Tustin High

Outlook: The Tillers had some players transfer out that could have made this team even more potent, but the cupboard isn’t bare. Tustin returns five starters. One good place to start is the biggest guy on the roster, David Maka. Maka will see time on both lines and some tight end. He’s the only returning starter on the line. The skill positions are set with the likes of quarterback Quinnton Roberson and his backs Edward Tandy, Terence Martinez and Marshaun Daniel. Once he’s cleared, the addition of DaVonte Young (St. John Bosco) will certainly drive defenses crazy. The same is true for Tustin every year. It is same every year for the Tillers, they must avoid injuries. Last year’s team was able to get healthy before the playoffs and they ran all the way to the title. Another deep run toward a CIF title wouldn’t be a surprise this season.
