Outlook:

The Pioneers were hit by three out-going transfers, including quarterback Matthew Brooks to a school in Nevada. But the good news is that St. Michael’s should still carry about 17 players – which is about the same as Express League rivals Capistrano Valley Christian and Eastside Christian. Six of the players are seniors. Quarterback David Suh and running back Anton Gerami are two of the top returning seniors on offense. Suh and Gerami will be more important since 2009 standout running back Joseph Rivero graduated. Safety James Tran is an emerging senior on defense. St. Michael’s hopes to bounce back after posting two victories last season.
