Girls golf preseason O.C. top 10 (9-5-11)
1. Canyon – Elisabeth Bernabe, the defending Southern Section champion, returns to lead the Comanches, who are looking to win their third CIF-SS Southern Regional team title in a row.
2. Troy – Even though he lost a two starters to graduation Coach Jerry Cowgill said this team might be “stronger and deeper” than the one he had last year.
3. Mater Dei – Janneinne Le and Briana Check, both Trinity League second-team honorees, return to lead one of the deepest teams in the county.
4. Edison – Coach Paul Harrell said this is the best team the Chargers have fielded since they won the Sunset League championship in 2005
5. Brea Olinda – Freshman Amy Lee has joined the team, and she is coming off a summer which put her in the top 25 in the national AJGA rankings. She won the Stockton Convention and Visitors Bureau Junior Open after shooting a final-round 66
