Four county girls medal at state tournament

Four county girls wrestlers earned medals at Saturday's state wrestling tournament.

Senior Antonia Perez of Anaheim placed the highest, with her fifth-place finish at 122 pounds. Perez lost in the second round Friday, but managed to stay alive in the consolation bracket, going 4-1 to finish fifth.

Senior Nicole Freeman (Savanna) placed seventh at 108 pounds. Freshman Carmen Aragon (Fullerton) placed seventh at 235 pounds and sophomore Joselyn Parada (Santa Ana) was eighth at 146.

West Covina won the inaugural event with 156.5 points.
