Northwood picks apart Ocean View, 21-6
HUNTINGTON BEACH - David Woolbert scored on a 5-yard touchdown run with two minutes to play Friday night to put the finishing touches on a 21-6 Northwood victory over Ocean View at Ocean View High.
The touchdown was set up by a third-down pass for 12 yards from Kyle Beane to Tony Fullman to the 5.
Fullman and Beane had connected earlier in the game for two touchdown passes.
It almost seemed as if they were playing pitch and catch for most of the game.
Said Fullman: "They (Ocean View) set themselves up for it with the coverage they ran."
The coverage was never there for the Seahawks. They saw Fullman make great catch after great catch.
The game got interesting in the opening of the second half when Ocean View’s Colton Johnson took the kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown.
From there it was a close defensive battle but loaded with penalties.
Each team never seemed to get in a real rythmn in the second half, until the final drive by Northwood late in the fourth quarter.
Northwood (2-1) takes on rival Irvine next week at Irvine Stadium, while Ocean View (1-2) battles Costa Mesa in Ocean View’s homecoming game.
