A two-year varsity captain runner for the Royals, Peterson is also all one of the school’s top academic achievers. She is currently taking AP Calculus, AP English, AP American Government, AP Chemistry, Honors Physics, and World Religion. She is school president of the California Scholastic Federation and has been awarded the Discus Award and was named a National Merit Commended student. She has achieved a perfect score of 800 on an SAT test in Biology and Critical Reading. Among the schools Peterson is interested in attending are: Creighton University, MIT, Princeton, Georgetown, the University of Chicago, Stanford, Rice, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara, Cal, and Notre Dame. She plans to major in biology.
