ANAHEIM Matt Contreras rushed for 277 yards and six touchdowns to lead Anaheim to 45-28 victory over Katella in a nonleague game Friday night at Glover Stadium.

The senior running back set a record for touchdowns in a game for Anaheim (2-0), which recorded its 500th career victory.

"We proved tonight that, in crunch time, we can ram it down someone's throats when we have to," Contreras said.

After the Knights (0-2) closed the gap to 31-28 on a touchdown run by P.J. Papalii with 11:53 remaining, Contreras capped a 13-play Anaheim drive with a one1-yard TD run.

On Katella's next play, D'Vaughn Avery intercepted a pass, and Contreras iced the game with a 32-yard TD run three plays later.

Katella quarterback Vince Peraza threw for 128 yards and three touchdowns.
