Offense gives Ocean View big lift in 36-9 romp

Special to OCVarsity.com

HUNTINGTON BEACH - Ocean View jumped all over Saddleback early en route to a 36-9 romp and its first Golden West League victory Friday night at Ocean View High.

Kyle Walker scored on a 1-yard run for the early 7-0 lead on the Seahawks' first possession.

When the Roadrunners (0-9, 0-4) fumbled the ensuing kickoff, Walker capitalized three plays later with a 5-yard touchdown scamper.

Walker finished with 80 yards on 14 carries and also scored on a 53-yard screen pass in the third quarter.

Quarterback Nolan Tippy took over from there for Ocean View (4-5, 1-3), throwing for 262 yards and three touchdowns.

His favorite target was Kenny Tarpley, who finished with 161 yards on six receptions, including a 860-yard catch and run TD.
