Buena Park vs. Sunny Hills
BUENA PARK - Sunny Hills' defense came up big, and running back Elliott Colby ran for three touchdowns to lead the scoring attack for the Lancers' 36-0 homecoming victory against Buena Park in a Freeway League game at Buena Park High on Friday night.
Colby started the scoring with a 5-yard run with 7:32 left in the first quarter and ended up with three rushing touchdowns in the first half.
With 4:12 left in the second quarter, Colby scored from the 1-yard line to give Sunny Hills a 12-0 lead. Sunny Hills then recorded a safety as defensive lineman Danilo Nam sacked Buena Park (1-8, 0-4) quarterback Troy Nelson in the end zone with 4:02 left.
Colby's third and final score in the was a 5-yard run with 3:37 left in the first half.
Colby finished the game with 52 yards on 12 carries for Sunny Hills (5-4, 3-2).
For Sunny Hills, defensive back Jae Byun and linebacker Ryan Purvis each recorded interceptions.
Sunny Hills also got two fumble recoveries, one made by defensive back Philip Pribac and one by linebacker Chris Hadley.
