Northwood earns first victory
Northwood-Woodbridge recap.
IRVINE Northwood scored 29 consecutive points and rolled to its first victory of the season, beating Woodbridge, 35-14, in a Sea View League game at Irvine High on Friday night.
The Timberwolves did so behind 133 yards rushing by Kevin Juby, 91 yards rushing by Patrick Garvin and a strong defensive effort. Northwood (1-9, 1-4) forced four Woodbridge turnovers, two of which led to scores.
Quarterback Andrew Stepenson also ran for three touchdowns.
“I am really happy for our seniors,” Northwood coach Rick Curtis said. “I am glad we could get one for them.”
Woodbridge finished 0-10, 0-5.
The Warriors took a 7-6 lead on a 23-yard touchdown pass from David Ingram to James Parr with 1:33 left to go in the first quarter.
Northwood scored a minute later to take the lead for good.
Stephenson rushed in from 12 yards out.
