Girls Scholar-Athlete of the Week: Alissa Changala

A three-year athlete and captain on both the basketball and volleyball teams, Changala has also displayed excellence in  the classroom and in her community.

She has volunteered 200 hours of her time for Families Forward, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of unemployed and low income families in Irvine. She has also volunteered with  Wolfpack, a school organization that woks with mentally-challenged students at  Northwood.

Changala, who has also played on the lacrosse and track teams at Northwood, is ranked second academically in her senior class and has been  accepted to Boston College and Loyola Marymount. She is also currently  considering Cal, UCSD, Harvard, and Tufts University.
