At the Edison Beach Bash
Connor Kim (Mission Viejo) earned Lower Weight MVP honors, winning three matches by fall and two by major decision at 138 pounds.
Westminster led all county schools with a third-place finish. Cypress was fourth with eight medalists. Santa Margarita (sixth) and Edison (ninth) also finished in the top 10.
Individual county champions include: Scott Ha (Woodbridge, 113), Andrew Clayton (Santa Margarita, 132) and Anthony Anderson (170).
At the La Costa Canyon Jimmy Hamada Classic
San Clemente finished with 11 medalists and second in the team standings with 190.5 points. Servite was sixth with six medalists and 113 points.
San Clemente’s Austin Aceves (220) was the Upper Weight MVP. Aceves won three matches by fall and another by tech fall.
El Dorado’s Gino Roman (145) won all four of his matches by decision to get the title.
At The Irvine Invitational
Irvine, with 195.5 points, finished atop a close race for the team title. Trabuco Hills was second with 175, followed by Aliso Niguel (171.5) and Los Alamitos (150).
Tustin’s Guillermo Avila was the Lower Weight MVP, winning three matches by fall and one by major decision.
Randy Howe (120), Max Kumashiro (182), Mason Kumashiro (220) and Alex Redmond (285) won titles for Los Alamitos.
Ramtin Kianiazar (126), Tony Morabito (138) and Michael Villegas (152) were champions for Irvine.
Noah Villa (132), Ian Michinok (145) and Logan Arguello (170) won titles for Aliso Niguel.
At Long Beach Poly
Valencia, led by Upper Weight MVP Josh Baron (152) won the tournament, finishing four points ahead of host Long Beach Poly. The Tigers posted 176.5 points.
Baron won one match by default and three others by fall. Jake Langenwalter (113) and Juston Berks (145) also won titles.
Other county champions: Steven Goltra (Pacifica, 120), Jason Correa (Ocean View, 138) and Omar Brito (Villa Park, 171).
