Perfect.

That has been the best way to describe Calvary Chapel's Morgan McIntosh since his freshman year.

For three years, McIntosh has won every match he has wrestled.

It only seemed fitting that after his final match, the crowd at the Rabobank Arena gave him a standing ovation as he completed his third consecutive state title.

McIntosh (189 pounds) went 46-0, winning titles at all the regular season tournaments Calvary Chapel entered: the Ironman, Asics Challenge, Prep Slam and the Five Counties Invitational. He started the postseason by winning his fourth consecutive CIF and Masters titles and then capped the season with his third consecutive state title.

The Penn State-bound McIntosh also went through another season without allowing a takedown.

For his accomplishments, McIntosh is the Register's 2010-11 wrestler of the year. This is McIntosh's second time winning the honor.

"This has been a lot of fun," he said. "So many good experiences that I'll remember for the rest of my life, being with the team, traveling with the team, winning state titles ... it has been fun."

He became the 15th wrestler in state history to win three state titles and just the second in the county, joining Brian Moreno (Foothill, 2003-05).

McIntosh won his first state title as sophomore at 171 pounds. He won the last two titles at 189 pounds.

He was also selected the Dave Schultz Champion of Champions winner at the state tournament. This award is voted on by the other individual champions.

McIntosh became the second wrestler in Calvary Chapel history to earn four medals at the state tournament. Aside from his three state titles, he placed fifth as a freshman at 160 pounds.

"You can't say enough good things about the kid," Calvary Chapel coach Arsen Aleksanyan said of McIntosh. "He's not just a good wrestler, but he's an awesome kid. He's liked by everybody. I'm going to miss him a lot.

"A kid like him comes along once in a lifetime."
