Orange Lutheran vs. LB Wilson recap
LONG BEACH - The game didn’t begin the way Orange Lutheran coach Chuck Pedersen envisioned, but everything else went according to plan.
Pedersen, in his first game as coach of the No. 9 Lancers, winced as Long Beach Wilson scored on the first play from scrimmage Friday night, then watched his offense run over the Bruins in the 30-22 victory at Wilson High.
The Lancers amassed 407 rushing yards behind its hulking offensive line, anchored by UCLA-bound offensive tackle John Lopez.
Tavi Jimmerson bulldozed his way for 131 yards in 21 carries and scored two touchdowns. Junior quarterback Luke Langdon also took advantage of the option offense Pedersen brought over from the college level and scampered for 107 yards in 20 carries, and running back Adam Connette pitched in 97 yards in nine carries and scored a touchdown.
