Century League notebook
•Last year’s final standings: 1. Canyon (20-8 overall, 9-1 league); 2. Villa Park (20-7, 8-2); 3t. El Dorado (19-8, 5-5); 3t. Tustin (17-10, 5-5); 5. Brea Olinda (9-16, 2-8); 6. El Modena (10-16, 0-10).
•In the CIF-Southern Section Division I-A playoffs, Canyon lost in the first round, Villa Park lost in the second round, and El Dorado and Tustin lost in the wild-card round.
•Canyon is the coaches’ consensus pick to win the league championship, although it is considered a fairly balanced league.
•Canyon’s Anderson was All-Orange County first team and All-Division I-A first team last year when he averaged 18 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals a game. He signed a letter of intent with UCLA. He is the only Comanche who played a lot in 2006-07.
•Brea’s Fogg averaged 20 points a game and was all-league last season. Kelley scored 10 a game last year. Caudill could be among the top freshmen in the county.
•El Dorado had high hopes for 6-foot-7 senior center Tyler Delimin, but injuries will keep him out for the season. The Golden Hawks have only two players with varsity experience.
•Tustin might start five sophomores in many games this season. Very few of the Tillers have much varsity experience.
•El Modena looks to be greatly improved. The Vanguards has several good outside shooters on the roster
