Boys basketball playoffs: Division 4AA county breakdown
Costa Mesa: The Mustangs (10-16) finished fourth in the six-team Orange Coast League, and qualified for the playoffs as an at-large team. They play at Maranatha of Pasadena (20-7), the No. 2 team from the Olympic League, Wednesday in the first round.
JSerra: The Lions (15-8) defeated Orange Lutheran in the final week of the regular season to finish third in the Trinity League. The third-seeded Lions play host to Whitney of Cerritos (13-13) in the first round Wednesday.
Laguna Beach: The Breakers (21-6) went undefeated in the Orange Coast League. They have a first-round home game Wednesday against Salesian. Laguna Beach's Cole Kesler is averaging 14 points a game.
Whittier Christian: The Heralds (12-15) finished last in the Olympic League. They qualified as an at-large team. In the first round, Whittier Christian plays at Bishop Montgomery of Torrance, which is No. 1-seeded in the division, 26-0 and is No. 3 in the state rankings.
