The South Coast League boys water polo race delivered another upset Tuesday.

Goalie Brett Argersinger made 15 saves and Ryan Villanueva added four goals as Aliso Niguel stunned visiting San Clemente, 9-8.

On Monday, San Clemente knocked off No. 3 El Toro, 11-10, to move into contention to claim at least a share of the league title. But Aliso Niguel sank those aspirations.

"I wasn't shocked — I'd say other people were shocked," Aliso Niguel coach Erick Lynch said of the victory. "We have the talent."

Aliso Niguel finished the Division 1 league at 2-6. With the Wolverines' victory and Dana Hills' 20-8 triumph against Capistrano Valley, the Dolphins (20-7, 6-1) clinched at least a share of the league title.
