LAGUNA HILLS Laguna Hills clinched a share of the Pacific Coast League title Friday night, defeating Irvine, 28-14, at Laguna Hills. Laguna Hills (6-2, 3-0) shares the league title with University, which wrapped up a share of the crown Thursday night.

It marked the third league title in a row for the Hawks, who also won a coin flip and will go to the playoffs as the No. 1 team from the league.

“It’s the first time in the history of the school that we’ve ever three-peated in football,” Laguna Hills coach Bruce Ingalls said.

Irvine (7-2, 1-2) also advances. The Vaqueros tied for third with Corona del Mar but go as the No. 3 team after winning a coin flip.

The score was tied, 14-14, when defensive back Robert Refsnyder intercepted a pass late in the third quarter and returned the ball 30 yards for a score to put the Hawks ahead.

Reece Ludwig led Laguna Hills with three touchdowns.
