Segerstrom vs. Santiago
SANTA ANA - Segerstrom handed visiting Santiago its first loss of the season in a 49-29 victory Friday night.
The Jaguars (2-2) offense was on the attack from start to finish. In the first half, the Jaguars scored 36 of their 49 points. Anchoring this strong offensive attack was running back Francisco Partida, who rushed for 145 yards on 14 carries with a touchdown.
The Jaguars relied heavily on their running game, rushing for a total of 403 yards.
Quarterback Brian Murrieta only put the ball in the air four times, completing two passes for 65 yards and a touchdown.
Not to be left out, Murrieta joined the running game rushing for 15 yards on three carries and two touchdowns.
Not only did the Jaguars hit the Cavaliers (2-1) hard but they hit them quickly. In the first half, every Jaguars drive resulted in a touchdown and all but one of those drives took less than two minutes to complete.
"Our goal all week was to move the ball quickly and efficiently, almost a no huddle," Jaguars coach Mike Maceranda said.
