The Trojans jump out to a 28-point lead on the way to beating Calvary Chapel, 35-6.
COSTA MESA - University scored 28 first-half points and rolled to a 35-6 nonleague victory over Calvary Chapel on Thursday night at Orange Coast College.

The Trojans (7-0 overall) were gearing toward next Friday’s Pacific Coast League showdown with Laguna Hills.

But Coach Mark Cunningham warned his squad not to take Calvary Chapel (0-7) lightly.

“I wanted to make sure we kept focus on the team we were playing,” Cunningham said.

The Trojans certainly did.

Quarterback Parker Thompson completed 9 of 13 passes for 166 yards and one touchdown, a 40-yard strike to JoJo Galvez with 5:54 left in the second quarter which put the Trojans ahead, 28-0.

Galvez also scored on a 40-yard run early in the second quarter.

Brandon Snook rushed for 63 yards on 21 carries with one TD for Calvary Chapel.
