LAS FLORES - Quarterback Robbie Picazo completed his first 11 passes and threw for 228 yards and four touchdowns in the first half for top-ranked Tesoro, which clinched at least a share of the South Coast League title by beating Aliso Niguel, 48-0, on Friday night at Tesoro High.

“Our goal is to win the league title,” Titans coach Brian Barnes said. “In order to do that, we still need to stay focused and continue to improve everyday.”

With a victory next week at Dana Hills, the Titans (9-0, 4-0) can clinch their second consecutive South Coast League title.

The Titans needed only three plays to score on their first possession, as Picazo hit Preston King on a 45-yard touchdown pass for a 7-0 lead.

The Titans defense forced another three and out, and Picazo went back to work, with the final play on the drive a 10-yard touchdown pass to Zach Bevan.

The pair hooked up on a 28-yard touchdown pass later in the first quarter to give Tesoro a 21-0 lead.

The Titan defense, which allowed only 62 yards of total offense in the first half, forced another Wolverine punt, and three plays later, senior running back Jake Moon scored from six yards out, increasing the lead to 28-0.

Two minutes later, Picazo hit senior receiver Brett Gudim from 29 yards out, giving Tesoro a 35-0 advantage.

The Titan defense then closed the half with a score, as junior Trevor Weis recovered a blocked punt in the end zone for a 42-0 halftime lead.

Senior Justin Croskery added a 2-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to close out the scoring.
