Postseason: Did not qualify for the CIF-SS Pac-5 Division playoffs in 2011.

Coach: Todd Rusinkovich (second season, 3-7)

Home stadium: Dana Hills High

Outlook: The Dolphins were always competitive but a little outgunned in the South Coast League. That won’t be the case now that they have moved to their new home in the Sea View League where they have become instant contenders for the league title. Del Norte of San Diego-transfer Mac Vail takes over at quarterback and could wind up being one of the top passers in south county. The Dolphins have some good size on the line and the defense is led by defensive lineman Dalton du’Casse.

Factoid: Coaching is a family affair at Dana Hills. Coach Rusinkovich has two of his brothers and his dad on the coaching staff. Jake Rusinkovich is the offensive coordinator and Chad Rusinkovich is the wide receiver coach, special teams coach and speed coach. The elder Rusinkovich, John, is in charge of football operations.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
QB Mac Vail: The junior started for Del Norte of San Diego as a freshman, and is expected to be one of the top passers in South County.
DL Dalton du’Casse: He had 75 total tackles, 15 tackles for losses, six sacks, 12 QB pressures and caused two fumbles last season.
