COACH OF THE YEAR
Rick Hagin
El Toro
With Hagin overseeing a talented Chargers team, El Toro proved to be one of the state's top teams in the biggest competitions of the season. The Chargers finished fourth at the Orange County Championships and third in the South Coast, setting the stage for a remarkable postseason run. At the CIF-SS Division 1 Finals, the Chargers finished third with 58 points, the highest point total of any county team in all four divisions. They finished off the season tied for third at the CIF State Meet, best among all county schools that competed and best in the history of the program. El Toro also had more individual county athletes on the medal podium than any other county team at the meet. "I was fortunate and blessed to have such strong senior leadership," Hagin said. "We felt positive about the season and the focus was on getting as many kids to CIF as possible."
