O.C. Top 10
1. Canyon – All six of the players that helped the Comanches win the CIF SS South Team Regional return, including Century League MVP Elisabeth Bernabe and Jessica Vasilic. Vasilic was 12 under par in her three CIF tournaments last season.
2. Santa Margarita – Amy Alston, Kelsey Hummer and Kelly Dapper just might be the best 1-2-3 combination that the Eagles have ever had, Coach Amy Connelly said. All 10 of the players on the varsity roster, she said, average in the 30s or low 40s.
3. Mater Dei – All-County first-team member Victoria Nguyen returns to lead an experienced Monarchs lineup that includes three Trinity League first-team selections – Nguyen, Lexie Price and Nicole Casey
4. Beckman – The Patriots have one of the best players in the county on their roster – Kaitlin Park. She was the only Orange County player to qualify for the CIF State championship after shooting a 3-under 69 at the WSGCA Southern Championship tournament in Murrieta. Last month, she won the AJGA Scissortail Junior Championship.
5. Cypress – The Centurions are undefeated this season, beating Los Alamitos, Foothill and Tustin. Nadine Rivera and Sally Kim have both medaled for the Centurions this year, and both were All-Empire League first-team selections last year.
