Fullerton rallies past Cypress
Indians pull off come-from-behind victory.
In its first two games this season, Fullerton recorded one shutout and was on the receiving end of another. Thursday night, the Indians again showed their Jekyll and Hyde personality.
Unable to put up an offensive score in the first half, Fullerton scored 27 consecutive second half points to record a 36-24 comeback victory over Cypress at Western High.
Trailing 17-2 at the half, Michael Allain(215 yards rushing) scored on runs of 42 and 7 yards to close the gap to 24-16.
A 12-yard touchdown pass from Thomas Sheehanto Christopher Peekcut the deficit to 24-22.
Fullerton (2-1) took the lead with 4:02 remaining when an errant Cypress punt fell at the Centurions 28. Hearing no whistle, Artie Hernandezpicked the ball up and raced into the end zone. After holding Cypress (2-1) on downs, Sheehan scrambled for a 27-yard score to seal the game.
