Outlook: The top-seeded Sea Kings, the defending Southern Division champions, are making their fourth appearance in the finals. Corona del Mar beat Beckman, 14-13, in last season's championship game. The Sea Kings, who have a nine-game winning streak, also won titles in 1988 and 1989. Corona del Mar has recorded three consecutive shutouts in the playoffs, over Anaheim, 35-0, Los Amigos, 26-0, and Woodbridge, 25-0, to reach the finals. The third-seeded Argonauts are in the Southern Division finals for the third time in the past four seasons. Garden Grove, which has an eight-game winning streak, beat Beckman, 31-30, in the 2010 final and lost to La Mirada, 49-27, in 2009. Garden Grove, the Garden Grove League champion, also reached the finals in 1945, losing to Downey, 19-6.

COACH'S ANALYSIS
Woodbridge coach Rick Gibson guided the Warriors to a 7-6 record and into the Southern Division semifinals. He got a good look at Corona del Mar, losing to the Sea Kings, 33-16, in a Pacific Coast League game, and 25-0 in the Southern semifinals. Woodbridge fell to Garden Grove, 37-30, in a nonleague game. Gibson is in a unique position to dissect the Corona del Mar-Garden Grove matchup.
What Garden Grove must do to win? "QB Angel Martinez is also very athletic. He scrambles extremely well and creates problems when he moves either by running or finding an open receiver. Defensively, they are physical and move well to the ball. Garden Grove is going to have to play mistake-free football and get a couple of turnovers to win."
What Corona del Mar must do to win? "(Quarterback Cayman) Carter is an impact player. (He's) very athletic (with) MVP-of-the-division-type credentials. He does not make many mistakes on his spread option reads. (He) throws the ball well. (Wide receiver Troy) Reese is big and quick with great hands. If you roll up to play the run, he can hurt you deep. Defensively, they are sound and play a great team scheme. They do not give up the big plays. Special teams, their kicker has a range of 45-plus yards. On kickoffs, you very rarely get a chance to return. To win, they just have to keep doing what they have been doing: limit big plays, don't turn ball over and let Carter do what he does, and they will be successful."
