Frank leads Rancho Alamitos past Bolsa Grande

GARDEN GROVE - Rancho Alamitos quarterback Mike Frank threw for a touchdown and ran for another as the Vaqueros defeated Bolsa Grande, 35-14, in a Garden Grove League game Friday at Bolsa Grande High.

The Vaqueros (4-3, 1-1) scored first when Frank connected with receiver Trevor Collier on a 25-yard pass with 4:04 remaining in the first quarter.

The Vaqueros scored again in the second quarter when Frank rushed in from 5 yards out with 10:18 left.

Bolsa Grande (2-5, 0-2) scored its first points with a 54-yard interception return by Andrew Nanthavong with six seconds left in the first half to cut the deficit to 14-7.

Frank completed 18 of 35 passes for 208 yards.

Collier finished with seven receptions for 124 yards.

Bolsa Grande running back Devin Boland rushed for 77 yards and one touchdown.
