Vasilic, Bernabe lead Canyon past Foothill

Two of the six players for the Canyon girls golf team finished under par as the Comanches beat No. 8 Foothill, 209-216, in a Century League match Tuesday at Anaheim Hills Golf Course.
Jessica Vasilic carded a 3-under-par 33 on the front nine to medal for Canyon (5-3, 3-0). The Comanches' Elisabeth Bernabe finished with a 1-under 35.
In the Trinity League:
No. 2 Mater Dei 188, JSerra 254: Marcella Pranovia carded a 1-under 35 at Arroyo Trabuco Golf Course to lead the Monarchs (6-0, 2-0).
In the Sunset League:
No. 6 Edison 212, Los Alamitos 221: Pilar Hurtado finished with a 1-over 36 on the front nine at Old Ranch Golf Club to lead the Chargers (8-1, 2-1).
No. 5 Fountain Valley 216, Newport Harbor 228: Lila Vu posted an even-par 36 at Mile Square Golf Course for the Barons (7-1, 2-0). Grace Ferrel led the Sailors (4-5, 0-2) with an even-par 36.
