Mission Viejo's Allie Harrison busted through the defense and scored the game's first goal less than a minute into the second half to break up a scoreless tie against visiting Trabuco Hills.

The No. 6 Diablos added another before holding off a rally from the No. 8 Mustangs and winning the nonleague girls soccer match, 2-1, Tuesday at Mission Viejo High. Mission Viejo improved to 3-2-1. Trabuco Hills fell to 1-3.

"I thought at times we played really well," Harrison said, "but we still have a lot of work to do."

Julia Cabrales registered Mission Viejo's second goal with about 25 minutes remaining to make it 2-0. There was confusion on the play, which led to Cabrales scoring.

Trabuco Hills' backfield pushed up, trying to get the offside call on Cabrales, but the sophomore forward managed to stay even with the line and broke for the ball. She beat everyone to it, and easily knocked past goalkeeper Kassidie Stade.

The two goals spoiled what was an otherwise spectacular performance by Stade. Neither goal was her fault, as Mission Viejo got behind the defense each time, but she made two big saves in the first half to keep the game scoreless.

"We said their goalkeeper was the player of the game," Mission Viejo coach Susie Daher said.

Trabuco Hills' Jenny Konishi scored with just over five minutes to play to make it 2-1.
