The Argonauts marched right down the field on their first possession, putting together a 12-play drive that ended with Josh Sepulveda punching it from the 4.
The Argonauts continued their roll on their next possession. Sean Young found the end zone from 6 yards out, giving them a 14-0 lead.
Young led Garden Grove on the ground with 134 yards on 17 carries and a touchdown. Young was just effective through the air, passing for 136 yards and two touchdowns.
“Sean’s an unbelievable player," Garden Grove coach Joe Hay said of Young. "I’m a defensive coach, and I would have trouble coming up with a game plan to stop him.”
Bellflower finally got on the board with a little trickery. Benny Perez found Michael Jasper wide open on a double-reverse pass, making it 20-6 at halftime.
The Argonauts forced three turnovers in the contest, all of which were converted into touchdowns.
