Tustin vs. Orange Lutheran
TUSTIN - Neither defense wanted to budge for most of this game.
It wasn't until a 36-yard pass from Bobby Wheatley to Davonte Anderson in the fourth quarter that Orange Lutheran (2-1) finally had some breathing room in a 10-0 victory over the Tillers in a nonleague matchup Friday at Tustin High.
Wheatly's deep strike set up a 5-yard touchdown run by Exavier Edwards with with 8:11 left late in the fourth quarter.
Parker Flynn's field goal in the second quarter capped a 13-play, 66-yard drive highlighted by a pair of fourth-and-short receptions from Scotty Williams.
Tustin (0-3) converted all four of its fourth-and-short attempts but managed just 126 yards of total offense.
The Tillers' stingy defense was led by defensive end Chris Robinson, who had two sacks and a tackle for a loss.
"Their defense was crazy quick, probably the most athletic we have faced so far," Wheatley said. "But the way our defense was playing, I knew if we put any points on the board we would win."
