Last season: 6-6, 3-2 (3rd Alpha League)
Postseason: 2007, lost to Calvary Murrieta, 14-13, in Northeast Division first round
Coach: Jon Caffrey (6th year, 36-23)
Outlook: The Heralds now reside in the Olympic League and the Mid-Valley Division, which is considered Division XI. Last season, they were part of Northeast Division or Division XIII. "It's a big jump," Caffrey said. That's not the only change. Whittier Christian has changed its offense to the spread shotgun used by powerhouse Centennial Corona. During the spring, the Heralds received a three-day clinic on the offense from Centennial Corona coach Matt Logan. Whittier Christian returns only three starters on offense but one is standout Mark Edwards. The Heralds have improved their depth. Edwards in projected as the only two-way starter. Caffrey points to Paraclete as the league favorite.
